The Argosy University title of "higher education" is perhaps the biggest oxymoron of all! This *** school is over-priced, employs professors who lack talent and the ability to convey ANY teaching method, in addition, the school is NOT APA accredited despite their past claims to become accredited.

This too is all part of the scam to keep you enrolled in their useless diploma mill certificate programs which, by having the Argosy name, will limit your job/career path within larger state or federal institutions.

Go to any search engine and type in the "Argosy" name and the word "complaint" or lawsuit(s). This school is the biggest waste of time and money!

This business is fraudulent! I attended for several years in pursuit of my PsyD, only to leave the program with an MA and over $150,00 in debt.

I enrolled in the PsyD program a year after completing my BS in psychology. After completing 4 years at Argosy, I was placed on academic withdrawal because I earned a C 3 times in the same scientific inquiry class. After being readmitted, I was told that I had to re-take 2 years worth of classes that had "timed out." I re-enrolled, took the necessary classes, passed my comprehensive exam, and spent 2 years applying for internships. I had approximately 13 interviews in 2 years (a very lengthy competitive process) and was not placed at a site.

I was also placed on administrative withdrawal twice because of my inability to afford to pay tuition out of pocket. I have called and emailed asking for assistance with financial aid to get me through the last phase of my academic career, however, I've been told to check out additional loans. As I previously informed Argosy staff, I do not qualify for loans, thus, they have been sending me in circles in my search for financial assistance in the form of scholarships and grants. Now I'm completely broke and was recently told via email that I cannot re-enroll for "reasons I am aware of."

My GPA was high, I had glowing letters of recommendation, and was well-received by peers and many professors. I put a lot of time, money, and energy into my education. I feel betrayed and disgusted when I think of the multiple responsibilities and roles I have juggled and the sacrifices made in order to enroll, maintain a 3.6 GPA, and graduate.

Needless to say, my interest and passion for the field has been tested and I now wish I had taken a different path after graduating from high school.

Who we are.

Hello there,

I am a former student of Argosy University who is working with an attorney to gain justice for students who have been victimized by the poor business & unethical practices of Argosy. As you can see, I am not using my name in this blog because I feel that a certain measure of discretion is required. However, I would like to encourage you to PLEASE contact me if you have experienced any of the following at an Argosy University campus:

Unexplained failing of courses

Program changes that add to your program with no explanation or inadequate explanation

Improper discipline hearings

Improper termination from your program

Fraudulent recruiting practices

False promises (i.e. that your program is designed to accomplish certain goals but it is not)

Degree programs that are discontinued suddenly

If you or anyone you know have experienced anything like this and has the documentation to prove it, please contact me ASAP at students4AUjustice@***.com

I have similar problem. I'm an MBA student at Argosy/Denver, and

1. I never got any feedback about the papers, or assignment that I submit, since I start the program. and

2. the Instroctors never taught us the full 4 hours, as the class should be, it's max 3 hours, but usually 2 hours.

3-The instrouctor degree does not match the class he/she teaching.

I filled many informal complain to the dean, and nothing happens!!!

I feel that I lost my time and money in this school. Therefore,I'm thinking to file a complain againts this school, but I don't know where to start. Any ideas !!!

The students filing the lawsuit are all *** and will likely lose their suit. They KNEW prior to applying that the Florida campus was not APA accredited, nor did it promise to be accredited by the time they graduated. This is also the case for many law schools that are state approved and applying for ABA accreditation. No guarantees. Lower bar passage rates, lower paying jobs in general - but also lower tuition and books.

Argosy Atlanta is the ONLY APA accredited PSYD program in the state. So, do your homework first before blasting e-mails. Go ahead and check, but the APA just did another inspection at Argosy Atlanta and it remains APA approved for its PsyD.

No other school in GA can claim such accreditation. There is Emory, GA State, UGA and a few others, but all are PhD programs for researchers. Hands on - PsyD programs are where its at....

Let me guess. You're a journalism major at Argosy? What else could explain such elegant usage of the English language?

You get what you put into any University. Argosy Atlanta is a good campus, not perfect, but good. Most of the students have advanced degrees already, from "prominent" Universities. I, myself, went to a top 50 University for undergrad - and guess what it got me? Nothing. I worked hard to network and get my job pounding the pavement. You want a handout, go buy a newspaper.

All schools are diploma mills, they are in the business of making money. None care about you after graduation - you are lucky if they care while you are there. You have to do the legwork in life.

You want Silver Spoons - go watch Ricky Schroeder reruns. Pathetic.

I have had a similar experience as to Casey's except that my dispute is with the masters mental health counseling program. I am currently looking for an attorney to file a lawsuit.

Although we remain convinced that our daughter was not treated fairly by Argosy University Tampa, after considerable time, expense, and effort, we have been unable to document or uncover any pattern of abuse of students or other wrongful conduct on the part of the Tampa campus or the University as a whole. Although our daughter's experience was not a positive one, it appears that her experience was not typical, and we apologize if we dissuaded any potential students from considering Argosy based on our postings to this site.

Argosy is like a bad case of herpes, it comes back time and time again with a burning irritating sensation -which only money will cure in Argosy's case!

Argosy University is the biggest joke on the block. The Twin Cities campus kept me waiting for 2 years to complete my clinical education in radiology. That's right! 2 years! I completed all my academic coursework in 2006 (never failed a class) but they did not assign me to a clinical site until the end of 2008. When I complained that I had been treated unjustly they put me on academic probation. I sucked it up and cooperated with them because I felt that hiring a lawyer would only make things worse.

During my last semester of clinical training the university notified me that my tuition expenses were short $1600. I notified my lender to extend me an additional $1600 to cover the necessary expenses and they sent a disbursement letter to Argosy requesting they withdraw the funds. Argosy never responded to their letters. It wasn't until after I "graduated" that Argosy discovered the error and they told me I needed to seek an alternative loan cover the remaining balance because the loan I had taken out could not be applied after the semester ended. I told Argosy I would, but I wanted an explanation as to why the funds my lender sent them were never withdrawn and I asked for someone to explain to me how the mistake happened. It seemed reasonable, considering it wasn't my fault that this happened. When I started looking into alternative loans I discovered they loans with a "look back" option were hard to get and had high interest rates. I notified Argosy of this and they refused to offer reasonable assistance. They recommended I set up payment plans with their finance agency, but the repayment amounts were more than I could afford. They also refused to apologize to me or admit fault for failing to withdraw the funds that my lender had sent them during my last semester of school. They turned my account over to collection a few months ago and I was forced to put the remaining $1600 balance on my credit card. Today, the university notified me that I still owe then another $400 for collection fees, even though this amount was in the final bill that I paid to the collection agency. Needless to say the university will not let me take my radiology board exam until I pay.

Think I'm exaggerating, or making any of this up? Believe me, I am not. You can't make up stuff this outrageous.

I have a degree from here and have found that I learned more than my counter parts who have degrees from more traditional programs. And there is no love lost between me and EDMC, but I received a quality education.

Tell me more about your experiences. I'm a plaintiff's law firm investigator in Tampa, FL. I'm doing education research and your comments would be helpful.
